Where History, Heritage & the Viclas Lifestyle Come Together
For two decades, Vatos Y Viclas has documented, celebrated and helped carry forward the art, motorcycles, people and stories of the Chicano motorcycle community.
Vatos Y Viclas was established in 2006 and first introduced as a calendar for 2007—created to celebrate significant dates in Chicano history and recognize our community's contributions through sports, entertainment, social progress, politics and historic milestones.
What began as a one-time calendar project grew into something much bigger: a publication dedicated to showcasing the impact of the Vicla and the Chicano community on motorcycle culture.
In July 2006, Pablo "Tripp" Treviño coined the term Vicla while broadcasting Friday nights on 88.3 KUCR FM, Radio Aztlan, from the University of California, Riverside.
The radio show focused on Chicano artists, commentary on issues affecting the community, and recognition of Chicano accomplishments. Vatos Y Viclas would become an extension of that same mission, to preserve cultura through arts and entertainment.

Vatos Y Viclas releases its first calendar celebrating Chicano history and culture.

The one-time calendar project evolves into Vatos Y Viclas Magazine.

Viclero and Viclera grow into identities embraced throughout the motorcycle community.

Celebrating two decades of publishing, events, runs and showcasing Chicano contributions to the motorcycle world.
Through publishing, photography, events, runs and storytelling, Vatos Y Viclas continues to showcase the people, artistry and contributions of the Chicano community within the motorcycle world.
The motorcycles may bring us together, but the people keep the cultura alive. Vicleros and Vicleras. Builders and painters. Engravers and artists. Clubs, families and communities. Every build and every story adds another chapter to the legacy.

As Vatos Y Viclas celebrates its 20th anniversary throughout 2027, the goal continues—to publish, produce events and runs, and most importantly, showcase the contributions of the Vicla community to the motorcycle world.
